Help Rachel Beat T-Cell Lymphoma
Donation protected
Creating this go fund me and writing this is beyond difficult as it makes the situation even more of a reality. My name is Miguel Alvarado and I’m raising money for my fiancée, Rachel Ciervo. In 2021, Rachel and I got engaged and moved to Austin, TX together with plans to get married here. Soon after, Rachel began experiencing swelling in her lymph nodes and major fatigue. Over time she started having shortness of breath, loss of appetite, and dizziness. She saw multiple specialists and took several tests to get it diagnosed over the course of 7 months.
In January 2023, we found out the unfortunate news that she was diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoma, CD-30 positive. It’s a rare non Hodgkin’s lymphoma that can be difficult to diagnose. She recently began chemo and we are optimistic that her body will respond well to treatment. My focus has and will be to support her in every way I can but being away from friends and family has made things difficult.
While we’re grateful for our close family’s support, some of the expenses are becoming overwhelming. Due to how aggressive her chemo regimen is, Rachel will experience hair loss and potentially lose the ability to have children. The appointments and fatigue have caused her to slow down her business that she’s worked so hard to build in just one year. At the end of treatment she will need a stem cell transplant performed at MD Anderson in Houston where she will be in the hospital for 3 weeks recovering.
The money we raise will help cover expenses like:
- Fertility treatment
- Lost income
- Transportation
- Lodging in Houston for the stem cell transplant
- A quality wig to help her feel more like herself
I cannot think of a stronger person than my fiancée and I want to be able to support her and help her fight this. Any donation is appreciated and will go to supporting Rachel through her journey.
Thank you to everyone so far who’s been keeping Rachel in their thoughts and sending their love. We couldn’t do this without you.
