Hi, my name is Heidi Postma. I am the mother of [redacted]. My daughter was diagnosed with a cardiomyopathy when she was 6 weeks old. Her father and I were told she would need a heart transplant.
Being a nurse, I was able to handle all of [redacted] care as an infant, toddler, and grade schooler. She thrived and never wanted to be treated different from anyone else. She was on many medications and it was a challenge to get enough calories to grow and thrive. In 2010, when [redacted] was 12, she did need a heart transplant and it went very well. The University of Michigan has taken care of her until now.
[redacted] is in need of a heart and kidney transplant at this time. U of M referred us to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, knowing that they could not handle the complex situation as well as Mayo. [redacted] has been evaluated by Mayo and they have given us great hope!
We will have to relocate to Rochester full time for up to a year. She will need care to get strong enough to be listed for transplant. She needs to gain weight. She will be having multiple appointments daily.
I have seen God’s work in [redacted]'s life. I have had many friends and family praying for direction. The week after that God showed us clearly where we needed to go.
[redacted] has great health insurance. We are so thankful for that. I am not sure if I will be able to work when I relocate. [redacted] is needing assistance at this time but I am hoping she will be gaining more strength
If you are willing to help with making this miracle come to fruition, it would be so appreciated. I need to find a rental furnished place to live along with many other needs that arise. We serve a mighty God!
Please do not feel obligated to donate. I know the economy is tough right now. I would so appreciate prayer support for this journey.
