Rachel, a 27 year old mother of three, fell prey to anorexia about 10 months ago. After starving herself to a dangerous level she was hospitalized and eventually admitted to an inpatient recovery center, specializing in eating disorder.
As a young, single-income family the increased financial burden for medical assistance and child-care is weighty. This fund is intended to help cover some of the increased costs their family is feeling:
- Insurance premiums (including COBRA premiums while her husband was between jobs).
- Increased child care costs (e.g. nanny/day-care)
- Medical copayments to include urgent care, emergency room, ambulatory transport, and in-patient services.
- Incidentals related to single-parenting.
While Rachel works to recover, we are trying to keep life as stress free as possible for her, since stress is a trigger for these challenges. If you are led to help, we are grateful.
