Rachel’s Car Replacement Fund

If you know anything about the mechanical issues I have gone through with my car in the past year, then you know I have had more than my fair share. Unfortunately, push has come to shove, and I’ve been shoved off the cliff. As of 9/24, my transmission has given out and my car is officially dead. Yes, my 2017 Ford Fusion (yep, a not even 8 year old car) has struggled and given me so many issues that the price to repair the car is not worth the valuation that remains…

AKA… I need a new car.

Between a full-time job, a slowly growing side career, training for my black belt exams, and my parents being in San Diego, I need a reliable, yet realistically affordable car… yesterday.

Given that this is an emergency that came out of nowhere, and I already drained my savings earlier this year, repairing my Ford after another major catastrophe back in February, I don’t currently have the funding to support a new car. Even with selling the car for what it is worth, a replacement is still well beyond what is feasible for me right now.

I never thought I would be in a position where I would need to create a gofundme, but I am learning to swallow my pride, and reach out for help when it is needed. I am fundraising for the sake of generating as much money as possible for a large down payment, to help minimize the inevitable monthly payments that I will get, and hopefully not too much of an increase to my insurance. As of right now, I will be getting a rental car for a week, and then bumming rides off of friends, until my family and I decide to pull the trigger on a replacement.
