Rally for Rachel
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
I come to you today with a heavy heart and a plea for help. My beloved sister Rachel Morsett has been battling squamous cell carcinoma since January 2023, and her journey has been filled with countless surgeries, procedures, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments. It's been a relentless fight, one that has taken a toll on her physically, emotionally, and financially.
Living an hour away from the hospital where she receives treatment has only added to the burden. Her devoted husband has taken as much paid time off as possible, juggling between caring for their three children and being by her side during appointments and treatments. However, their resources have been stretched thin, and they now find themselves facing a daunting challenge.
This week Rachel visited MD Anderson in Houston, TX with our parents, and the possibility of participating in a clinical trial emerged, offering a potential new treatment. However, this also means more frequent visits to Houston, every other week, placing an additional strain on their already stretched finances.
Traveling is not cheap, and with her husband's paid time off exhausted, they are left in an uncertain situation. It's crucial for her husband (and her kids, when possible) to be able to accompany her to these appointments, providing the support and comfort she needs during this arduous journey.
I implore every one of you to donate whatever you can spare to support my sister and her family during this challenging time. Your generosity will ensure that they can afford the necessary trips to Houston and alleviate some of the financial burdens they are facing. No donation is too small, and every contribution will make a meaningful difference in their lives.
While we previously launched a GoFundMe campaign and were incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support we received, the reality is that a new year and a new medical deductible have reset their financial situation. Please, let's rally together and show my sister and her family that they are not alone in this fight. Your kindness and compassion will provide them with the strength and hope they need to continue battling this disease with unwavering determination.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support, prayers, and contributions.
With gratitude,
Pennie Webb
