Rachelle Thyroid Cancer Recovery Fund
Donation protected
On February 14, 2023, our dear friend Rachelle Randle underwent a full thyroidectomy at Essential Health in Duluth, MN, after being diagnosed with thyroid cancer.
For nearly a year, Rachelle was able to feel a bump on her neck. At first, it wasn’t suspicious -- months went by and it was forgettable whenever she did notice it. But since it never went away, last fall, she decided to have a doctor’s opinion when she went in for her regular visit. Although this was meant to put the matter behind her, the doctor wasn’t so optimistic. It was turned out it was definitely something -- what exactly was yet to be determined at that time.
Each doctor’s visit gave news that was a little bit worse than was hoped for. This culminated in December, 2022, when, after a biopsy, she was diagnosed with Hurthle Cell Carcinoma on the left nodule of her thyroid. And due to a smaller bump on the right side, it was determined that the only safe course of action was for her entire thyroid to be removed.
The most important news is that the surgery on Valentine’s Day was a resounding success! Even so, Rachelle has had to take weeks off of work and she and her partner, Nathan, have had additional expenses due to travel for surgery and other appointments. The outpouring of love and support so far has been overwhelming and heartwarming; all that is needed now is a small amount of financial support to help with bills.
We greatly encourage you to consider donating to this wonderful person and family to get through this difficult, but hopeful, time in her life.
