As some of you might know, I have just finished my first semester as a freshman at Colorado State University, and wow, has it been an amazing semester. I’ve really seen how faithful the Lord is this semester—I’ve met some amazing friends and come across some amazing opportunities. One of those opportunities is the opportunity to go to Uganda in June with a group of college students involved with Young Life at CSU, with an organization called Come, Let’s Dance! When I first heard about Come, Let’s Dance at Young Life, I felt like God was calling me to go with them to Uganda this summer. After hearing some of my friends talk about their experience of going to Uganda with Come, Let’s Dance, and how life-changing it was, and after praying about it, I have decided to go to with them this summer. I will be going to Kampala, Uganda, and am planning on going for four weeks.
I love being able to serve people, and build community with people, which is why I am so excited to go to Uganda this summer with Come, Let’s Dance. The heart of Come Let’s Dance is to develop community and to better the lives of people in and around Kampala, Uganda. While I’m there, we will be helping at their Christian Primary School, working at the farm, and serving at different medical outreaches. I am so expectant of what Lord is going do with this trip—in my life, in the lives of the people I’m going with, and in the lives of the people in Uganda. I am so thankful for this sweet opportunity to pursue a passion of serving and loving people that God has placed in my heart.
I am planning on going for four weeks in June, and my fundraising goal is $3,500. The money I raise will go towards travel costs, a safe place to live, food, transportation, and other living expenses. I would greatly appreciate any support--whether it's through finances or prayer and encouragement. If you'd like to know more about Come, Let's Dance, you can follow this link: http://www.comeletsdance.org. Also, if you have any questions for me, my email is [email redacted]. Thanks for your prayers and support!
With love,
Rachel
