Rachel Willis Henry Memorial Campaign

Rachel Willis Henry was brave, smart, fierce, and loving.  And funny as hell. She fought hard for her family, and she fought hard for all of the families in her community.   

Now we have the opportunity to give something back and to  donate to two things. First, this fund will help support  Rachel's celebration of life.   And second, it will ensure that her children, Jamani and Jamiyah, have the flexibility to choose whatever academic future they want for themselves. 

 Offers to help the Willis-Henrys have come in from across the U.S., and we are confident that this fundraiser can meet and exceed goals to ensure that Jamiyah and Jamani are set up to be successful in school and beyond.

Lakisha Young, founder of Oakland REACH and Rachel's friend and colleague, was point person for memorial venue, food, drink, and decorations, and she was able to draw down money directly to cover those costs (thanks to all of your generosity).  Now that the memorial is over we are working with Go Fund Me staff to change the beneficiary to Rachel's family directly, as the remainder of the money will go to the family for Jamiyah and Jamani's education fund.
