Rachel Voss cancer recovery support
Donation protected
Rachel is a wife, mother, grandmother, friend, recruiter, avid outdoorswoman, an honestly passionate human who would do anything for anyone.
Rachel is being faced with a medical hurdle that none of us hope we ever have to go through, today we ask for your support in her recovery.
Rachel has been diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer called Chondrosarcoma. This type of Sarcoma starts in the long bones of the body, where then it moves to the lungs. Rachel’s was caught early enough that it is a low-grade sarcoma and hasn’t ( nor WILL THIS TRIBE LET IT) spread.
Rachel’s is in her left tibia.
With dedicated treatment there is optimism for her recovery. Outside of her existing fragile medical state, Rachel will be undergoing surgery to remove the tumor, clean out the bone in which it’s been living, and initiate the lengthy recovery. The surgery is about 3 hours long and being this type of tumor doesn’t respond to chemo or radiation it MUST come out to save both her leg and give Rachel a good prognosis in life.
This is where Rachel needs our help most.
Post surgery, Rachel will be non-weight bearing for at least 6-8 weeks on her feet.
She will mostly be wheelchair bound.
From there, recovery will be slow and lengthy, learning to hold weight on a reconstructed, non cancerous tibia.
Rachel will be mostly bound to a wheelchair or walking support device, undergoing intense physical therapy and time away from work to focus on her health. Her focus and availability to treatment is crucial as her diagnosis is a slow but sneaky one.
She will be reliant on help at home and support from her village to not only stay mentally strong for her difficult journey in health, but supported with financial assistance in the daily activities of life and recovery.
Rachel is a support system, encouragement, fire starter, recruiter, and loved member of our hunting community!
Im asking for your help to come together to help support the one lady who is everyone’s cheerleader when she needs it most.
