Rachel and I met on Valentines day in1987 on a blind date. We became friends for the following 6 months, on July 27, 1987 we started dating. On June 6, 1992 we got married and on August 21, 1998 we had our first Son, David Luis Villamonte. Rachel developed major complications that her Doctor somehow over-looked.

Thank God that Rachel's twin Sister caught the systems early, or we may have lost her and our unborn Son. Rachel was rushed to the hospital where she went into labor 8 weeks before the due date. Rachel developed Pre-eclampsia also called toxema. (It can lead to serious, even fatal, complications for both Mother and baby. There are over 200,000 cases per year) It was touch and go for a few weeks for Rachel and over 6 months for our Son, his birth weight was only 2.9 lbs.

When David turned 11 years old in 2009, Rachel wanted to give David a sibling, we both had 3 siblings growing up and we wanted to give our Son a little Brother or Sister. Rachel was informed by her Doctor that she would be a high "risk-pregnancy" and would require to be monitored closely. There was no hesitation on Rachel's part, she was determined to give our Son a sibling and two weeks later she was pregnant.

We all were so exited, Rachel ate all the right foods, exercised with a group of friends. Our Son Justin, was scheduled to be born by C-section on July 1 2010. The week before, Rachel again developed pre-eclampsia. Justin Michael Paul was born on June 25 2010. Never the less both Mother and Baby were in good health and we were sent home in 3 days. Rachel's blood pressure was very high 3 days after birth so we returned for the post birth doctors visit she was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Miramar Memorial Hospital. It took days to get her Stabilized.

Rachel had developed both, Eclampsia and Pre-eclampsia. She developed chronic kidney disease. Her kidney would loose function over time and for the past 9 Year she has been under the care of multiple Nephrologist. Rachel was able to manage her condition always knowing that she would end up needing Dialysis and eventually, a kidney transplant. In February of this year, her Kidney function dropped from 28% function to 23% Rachel's Doctors decided to be proactive and start the procedure to get her on the transplant list.

Rachel qualified for organ transplant months ahead of schedule. One week after making it into the Cleveland Clinic Organ Transplant program, Rachel's condition worsened and as a result, multiple complication developed that required multiple trips to the emergency room.

Rachel was hospitalized this Friday, her hemoglobin dropped to 6.6 which is a very dangerous level and her Kidney function dropped to 9% The unfortunate issue is that Rachel is at a Stage 5 kidney frailer and a blood transfusion has issue with antibodies that could cause many complication including removal from the transplant list setting her back years.
