Rachel Stevens Craniotomy Expenses

Hi everyone - in August 2023, Rachel Stevens was diagnosed with a brain tumor that has caused her to lose hearing in her right ear. After meeting with the neurosurgeon, Rachel has been told that she will need to have a craniotomy on September 26th to remove the tumor. She is not a candidate for radiation due to the size of the tumor and her post-op recovery will be at least 6 weeks. This is devastating news to her and her family and, as you can imagine, leaves them with many questions and concerns - one of those being finances. Rachel is a small business owner and she works so hard to run a successful photography business here on the shore. Many of us here know what it’s like to run a small business and so we can imagine what a 6+ week hit would do to our families. Rachel’s surgery and recovery are during a time when she has many weddings and other family sessions to photograph. She will need to pay other photographers to cover for her and this means significant financial strain on her family during this time.

Rachel’s husband, Mike, is a permanently disabled Purple Heart veteran and he is her rock during this extremely hard time. Together they have 4 beautiful children and their family depends on her income.
