Help Rachel rebuild after losing her home in Jasper
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Babs and I’m Rachel’s twin sister. Rachel and I have lived apart now for 10+ years.
In 2013 aged 29, Rachel took a leap of faith and moved to Canada on a work visa. She immediately fell in love with the stunning mountain town of Jasper and over the following years did everything in her power to secure a long-term future there. This was far from easy as she navigated her way through the logistics and expenditure of immigration complexities until she finally realised her dream of becoming a permanent resident in 2018.
After working tirelessly across jobs in both law and hospitality to become established in the community, just seven weeks ago Rachel achieved her dream of opening a co-owned restaurant, The Peacock Cork and Fork. Just as she was finding her feet, cruel and devastating wildfires destroyed her business, her home, her town, her community and life as she knows it.
Watching the wildfires work their way through the National Park and, horrifically, the townsite has been so hard for our family, who have always found peace in our visits.
We cannot comprehend the tragedy hitting those who live, love and work in Jasper.
As Rachel and I turn 40 this month, I would love for any of my friends, instead of gifts/cards, to please donate what they can to help Rachel rebuild.
Rachel has been left with nothing and needs to rebuild her life. Please consider donating, no matter how small, if you can.
Thank you for your support ❤️
