Rachel Hobson's Fight Against Breast Cancer!

In October, our friend Rachel Hobson, at the age of 36, was diagnosed with a complex Invasive Ductal Breast Cancer. HER (+) HER (-) Stage 3 and Stage 4 involving her left breast and lymph nodes in her arm. Rachel has already undergone a considerable course of chemotherapy, only to find that the cancer is not responding to treatment as expected. In the next few months, Rachel will undergo extensive and invasive surgeries followed by radiation treatments. All in hope that by further examining and testing of the tumors, her team of doctors will be able to tailor a more precise course of treatment. There is no timeline as to how long it will take for Rachel to win this battle. Conservatively speaking, it may take years.

Rachel is in the FIGHT FOR HER LIFE!!!

Anyone who knows Rachel has experienced her kindness and genuine smile. The authentic way in which she is visible in the world. Rachel has always shown up to support others.

You may recognize Rachel. She is a hometown girl. A graduate of Mckeesport High School. She has worked and managed at many of our local establishments including Steel Towne, Todd’s by the Bridge, Chick’s Bar & Grill, Bootsie’s, Pub in the Park, East Pittsburgh VFW, and Roobar. Through her relations with the patrons and establishments, she has been instrumental in creating, organizing, and supporting many fundraising campaigns. Although too many to mention, she has worked tirelessly to support groups such as Susan G. Komen, Multiple Sclerosis, Wounded Warriors, Cystic Fibrosis, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, many local Police and Fire Companies.
