Rachel has selflessly spent her whole life caring for others and has always been the type of person to always put everyone else before herself. Anyone that has ever known Rachel will know that she has always worn her heart on her sleeve and would often drop everything to help someone in need, in any way that she could.
On 1st March 2025, Rachel suffered a bilateral stroke affecting the part of her brain which affects major organs. After spending some time in Kent & Canterbury Hospital, it became apparent that unfortunately the stroke left vital parts of her brain unable to function meaning that once the ventilator has been removed Rachel will pass away. We cannot begin to express the devastation she will have left behind. This has all come as such a shock to everyone and we all feel very strongly that as Rachel has given so much of her life to help others, this is our time to make sure that we do her proud.
Rachel is a 46-year-old mother of three to Liam, Courtney & Mark. As well as being a doting Nanny to three wonderful grandchildren, Rachel will also be leaving behind her eight siblings all of whom had a special place in her heart.
Many of you will know that Rachel had spent most of her life living on Portland and the last 12 years living in Kent. She visited when she could and had plans to move back here but unfortunately was never able to do so. We would like to honour her wish by bringing her home and giving her the send-off that she deserves. The stroke was so unexpected, and we never thought that we would be in the position that we are. Unfortunately, funerals are not cheap and will come at a cost which we are unable to afford without the help from others.
We have never liked reaching out for help, but we do strongly feel that this is the last opportunity we will have to show our gratitude and give Rachel the send-off that she deserves. We thank you wholeheartedly for reading this far and appreciate any help that you can give.
From Liam, Courtney, and Mark.
