Rachel Finnell our Warrior

Donation protected
Hi, we are the friends (family by choice) of Rachel Ann Finnell. Rachel was our Warrior - but so much more to many of us! She was a loving wife and mom, best friend, caring professor of nursing, amazing artist, musician, runner, and world traveler. Rachel was a mom first and decided later in life to become a nurse. She worked so hard to get her nursing degree and later her masters. She loved being a nurse and was just that caregiver by nature! Whenever a family member or friend was sick or hurt, she was our "Nurse on duty". Rachel loved life and brought laughter and joy wherever she was. She was the life of the party or whatever event was going on. If you said "let's do this... she said when and where? What can I bring?" Friendsgiving and holidays will not be the same without her. Rachel loved the outdoors and seemed to love every season! Rachel loved to explore! Whether it was driving her jeep out into the Owyhee's, camping at a mountain lake, sitting by the campfire, finding a hidden hot springs, riding her snowmobile at the cabin, or snorkeling in Hawaii. Honestly, just driving her jeep anywhere with the top and doors off made her happy! Rachel was go, go, go!

Rachel fought a battle with cancer for over 4 years. She kicked its butt the first time, but a couple years later it came back as a different form. There were several times that we thought we might lose her, but she fought on and survived. She had several surgeries and stays in the hospital to fight infections. This last trip she spent a week in the ICU. We call her our Warrior because she was a fighter and didn't give up, even when things were very difficult! She always remained positive and didn't want anyone to see the pain she was in. With that said, the medical bills are starting to pile up. Rachel leaves behind her loving husband Paul and two beautiful girls. We don't want them to spend their time worrying about bills. Instead we want them to rest and remember the beautiful person she was. Rachel was a loving wife, mom, and "sister". She was loved immensely and words can't explain how much we miss her. Losing her has left a huge hole in all of our hearts!

If you would like to give, we would be so thankful! Please consider donating to Rachel's fund instead of sending flowers. This would really help out Paul and the girls the most.
