We're recording our first EP and we need your help to make it happen!
We have the incredible opportunity to record with Grammy-nominated producer Jason Richmond (The Avett Brothers, Joe Henry, Kate McGarry, Branford Marsalis, The Steep Canyon Rangers, Dom Flemons, The Bad Plus, Shirley Caesar and The Foreign Exchange), who we feel very honored to work with.
Our group celebrates diverse people coming together to share the beauty of the human experience. We are an energetic, close knit, collaborative, and fun loving group who met as students at UNC and came together over great friendship and a love of playing music together.
The songs on the EP (with lyrics by Rachel and music arrangements by the Arvind, Andrew, Olivia, Jakob, and Ben) are about the complexities of our closest relationships in life. Rachel's songwriting is characterized by deep self-reflection and sharp self-awareness through a feminist lens. The band's music is a soulful and heartfelt mix of jazz/R&B and indie influences.
We are hoping to meet our goal by the end of April when we record. Funds will cover time in the studio, mixing, and mastering.
