Hey folks, I’m Andrea, Rachel’s favorite sister - ok just her big sister. For those of you who don’t know, Rachel has spent the past 9 days in the hospital with HELLP syndrome. Which means she’s had high blood pressure, high enzyme count, and low blood platelets. The only cure being delivery.

Yesterday her blood pressure kept spiking and the team at the hospital decided delivery needed to happen for her and the baby’s safety. So last night she gave birth at 22wks & 5 days to baby De’Shawn. He’s a fighter, and is doing as well as can be so far.

Obviously a lot of this is completely unexpected and happening way earlier than we would have hoped. We have had several people asking how they can help, and thought this would be the best way. With Rachel being unable to work while recovering, and spending the next potentially several months in the hospital with De’Shawn in the NICU, there are expenses she will need help covering. Not just medical, but the normal day to day stuff too.

We appreciate everyone’s prayers, good vibes, and love that they have shown Rachel and our family. Thank you all for your help, and support. We’ll be posting updates here and on Rachel’s Facebook!
