On June 12th, Vera was attacked by 2 large dogs outside of Gimme Coffee.  Vera just completed surgery this afternoon and will be in the dog hospital at Cornell until Sunday June 18th.

Rachel is working with the police in hopes to get some compensation for the medical bills which were estimated to be around $6,000. Unfortunately from what I have gathered so far, the man that owns the dogs is possibly homeless and might not have the capital to help. 

Vera and Rachel spend as much time together as possible - they are almost constant companions. Vera enjoys so many dog-ventures including hiking, lake time, splashing in the creek, anything with the word dog in it......and snuggling - she is really into snuggling.
