Rachel and Joe's IVF Journey
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lizzie, many of you know me through my sister, Rachel and her husband Joe. Rachel and Joe have been trying to have children for the past four years but unfortunately they have been unable to conceive. They have already gone through the IUI process 5 times but this didn't work either, so they are onto the next procedure to try to get pregnant called IVF.
In vitro fertilization (IVF) is where a woman's egg is removed and fertilized with the man's sperm in a laboratory, then returned to the womb to grow and develop.
Rachel and Joe are grateful to have their medical insurance, however, the IVF process can be financially draining especially when insurance fights back on every part of the process. They started the IVF journey in January 2023 and have already seen the cost of appointments, medications, and genetic testing to be just over $7800. On top of that cost they have also already had to pay the cost of the egg retrieval and some of the cost of implantation which totals $7550 even after insurance. There will also be additional costs for other ultrasounds and appointments that cost more out of pocket even after insurance. In my research, just one single IVF cycle can cost $30,000 or more.
I am humbly asking on their behalf for any amount of money you could donate to them. Any amount possible would reduce the financial and emotional stress on them as a couple. They would greatly appreciate any help with this procedure to grow their family.
Thank you in advance,
From Lizzie, Rachel, and Joe
