Starting Over - the Kids and Me

Thank you for visiting our page. My goal here is not to misrepresent but to offer a snapshot of our present situation. My children and I are ready to move on and to establish as much stability as possible. I believe that this is in the best interest of everyone. Because of a lack of experienced legal presentation we are unable to do so. This is where we would be most appreciative of your support.

For the past two years, Tim refused to grant me a divorce. I had a default decree in place (which means--due to Tim's lack of participation--I have gotten to write the terms regarding my kids' care). At the 11th hour, Tim hired council and got my decree thrown out. My lawyer was simply young and inexperienced. We are supposed to go to mediation soon but yet no movement there. I spoke with Tim this week letting him know where I'd be negotiable.

I cannot roll the dice in mediation. I have learned that you get what you pay for and I will not gamble with my children's lives.  I need to know my counsel is savvy in negotiating and obtaining true financial statements from Tim (we have not been able to secure this). This is the chief reason I am asking for help. I am working full-time, teaching 3x week before my work day beings, taking babysitting jobs with the kids in tow and working hard to build my Arbonne business. Attorneys want large retainers up front. I have been quoted by several that it will be a minimum of $5k for the retainer and $5 to proceed. I do NOT have this. There are so many legal proceedings that need to happen even before we go to mediation but I need an attorney to do those things. So, if you'd like to donate toward my securing an experienced lawyer, I would be SO grateful. I just want this heartache behind us.
