Help Rachael Recover

Hi friends and family. My name is Louis from Houston, Tx and I am starting this Gofundme page on behalf of my beautiful Rachael. On December 14, 2020,  Rachael’s heart stopped during a medical procedure and as a result she suffered a brain injury. She was treated at Memorial Hermann for approximately 1 month and now she is currently at a specialty hospital for brain injury patients. She is currently in a wakeful coma state. I found out last week that her insurance will no longer cover her stay at the specialty hospital because she is not improving fast enough.  This news is a worrisome setback for her recovery. How can an insurance company just give up on someone after 3 weeks of rehab? Why is saving money considered more important than someone’s life?  I have videos of Rachael moving her arms and feet which she was not doing  2 months ago.  She has improved but not enough for insurance standards .  The cost of keeping her at a specialty rehab facility is $45,000 per month out-of-pocket. We are now trying our hardest to get her into another rehab facility, Memorial Hermann TIRR in the Houston Medical Center. I also want Rachael to try hyperbaric chamber treatments which cost $5000 per session under a doctors supervision. Rachael deserves more than 3 weeks of rehab! She deserves the opportunity to recover! We all miss her happy-go-lucky spirit, her laugh, her friendship, and her love.
