Rachael's Heart Helpers

Rachael is a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse. In January of 2021 Rachael was diagnosed with Covid-19. One of the side effects she incurred was similar to myocarditis; she was officially diagnosed with an arrhythmia. Fortunately, she had recently shown signs of improvements and had her cardiac medications decreased.

 

This past weekend while attending a fitness class at Orange Theory Rachael suffered a cardiac arrest. Fortunately, there were two doctors in her class, one of whom performed CPR while the other called 911 and arranged for her immediate arrival at the local hospital. The work performed instantly was nothing short of heroic. However, upon her arrival at the hospital Rachael had to be shocked via a defibrillator no less than four times.

 

She is currently intubated, using a ventilator to help her breathe, and is beginning to show signs of responsiveness. The medical team is working tirelessly to help her and guide this nurse through the unthinkable. It is a long battle that she is facing. Whenever she is finally able to return home, she will likely need both physical and occupational therapy which will further delay her ability to get back to work.

 

Rachael has always used her wealth of medical knowledge, her skills, and her nursing experience to ensure that each and every one of her patients received the very best medical care that she could give them and now she needs our help.
