Rachael Goethals

Hello All,

On behalf of my friend Rachael Goethals, I am making a Go Fund Me Page for her. As many of you know, Rachel is an amazing ICU Nurse. Currently the roles have been switched for her. Approximately 1-1/2 weeks ago she started feeling ill. 2 trips to the emergency room, being sent home. Still feeling weak, having abdominal pain and nausea. Thanks to Froedtert/Holy Family, on 5/22 it was determined that her liver function labs were highly elevated and was admitted to the hospital. Ultrasound was done which showed her gallbladder needed to be removed and this was done on 5/24. Due to dehydration and pain control, she was unable to leave the following day. Friday, 5/26 her Bilirubin was elevated that indicated she had a possible gallstone in her bile duct. That day, an ERCP was done. No stones were found, though they were able to remove sludge from her duct. As for today, 5/29, her stomach is not tolerating food well. She is up and about more independently. She had a CT scan done of her abdomen which is showing free air and is currently in surgery again now.

Rachael works casual in her RN position, which means she does not get any paid medical leave. Being in the hospital for over a week will be costly. Please, if you are able, help support Rachael and her family to help with the cost of her medical bills. Thank you!
