Meet Vanessa Alexander, the Shit Magnet:

Vanessa’s personal and professional backgrounds are in ranching, domestic, wildlife, and exotic animal rescue and rehab, veterinary medicine, horse racing, rodeo, law enforcement, juvenile probation and drug court, adult corrections and dispatch. Amongst her favorite hobbies are raising rare butterflies and moths, prosecuting animal abusers, exposing corrupt public servants and fighting for civil rights.

When ferreting out criminal activity she has prepared preliminary reports with supporting evidence and witness statements that she then turns over and assists to the appropriate state and federal agencies such as the FBI, Maverick County Sheriff's Office, Louisiana Racing Commission, et cetera. Vanessa and her investigations have appeared on news broadcasts and in true crime shows on networks such as Oxygen and The Discovery Channel’s Investigation Discovery (ID) channels.

Alexander’s covert work and her work with the NMRC and other racing agencies have resulted in terminations of racing agency and track staff, criminal charges, license suspensions and revocations, forfeiture of 7-figures worth of purses, hundreds of rulings for doping and other infractions in her efforts to fight doping, fraud, cartel-related trafficking and money laundering, and bring integrity back to the racing industry.

Our Racetrack Warfare Saga started with Alexander’s 5-year long friendship with NMRC director Ismael “Izzy” Trejo (“Trejo”) in 2016, Alexander having no idea that she was befriending the racing industry's bubonic plague and indirectly assisting the industry's Typhoid Mary: the NMRC's inept and corrupt "chief investigator," Leasa Johnson.

A statement from Vanessa:

Among my many hats, I am an advocate for the welfare and safety of the nation's racehorses and horsemen. I also believe in government transparency, enforcing integrity standards, and protecting due process and civil rights - which practically makes me an Enemy of the State in New Mexico.

In particular, the staff and politically-appointed officials of the New Mexico Racing Commission strongly disagree with my beliefs, and they have viciously attacked me for exposing and reporting the astounding incompetence, corruption, civil rights violations, and illicit criminal activities that are taking place in what is nothing less than a billion dollar regulatory capture scheme.

I have been under constant attack since I began to investigate, document, and report the misconduct taking place. Desperate to stop me, the NMRC, their masters, and their cronies have waged a war of slander, defamation, and torment against me.

While I have been fighting the NMRC's attacks, I have continued to research and expose the litany of mind-blowing incompetence, corruption, fraud, abuse, doping, and deaths taking place on New Mexico race tracks while the NMRC and tracks aggressively try to conceal these facts.

Through sheer stubborn tenacity and duty to the horses and horsemen, I have refused to back down. As the tide slowly turned, my hard-fought victories have fueled my resistance, and now I need as much help as I can to get to the finish line.

New Mexico's reputation as the most poorly-run, corrupt state in the nation is accurate and well deserved. Fighting for my civil rights, fighting to expose the doping and deaths, fighting to expose the massive fraud, and exposing the corruption of multiple government officials and agencies has incredibly made my search for competent and honest legal representation in this state nearly impossible: State corruption is a huge industry in which millions upon millions of taxpayer dollars are spent paying hundreds of private attorneys and their firms to defend the enormous number of incompetent and corrupt New Mexico state employees and officials. In turn, those private attorneys can look forward to politically-appointed seats on state commissions and boards, and on state and federal benches as judges.

I will expose the corruption taking place the best way I know how: obtaining and publishing evidence. But the war has reached the stage in which I need help to continue, and that means a showdown in court.

I am asking for help raising the necessary funds to cover the extensive legal costs of fighting this corrupt agency and support my mission of getting justice for the horsemen and horses who have been ruined by these people.
