13 year old Caitlin has been fighting a disease called tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) for 12 years. TSC is a genetic disorder that causes tumors to form in many different organs, primarily in the brain, eyes, heart, kidney, skin and lungs. Because of the tumors in her brain, Caitlin experiences multiple seizures every day. There presently is no cure, so this is a lifetime fight for Caitlin.
This year she's had an especially tough year with two surgeries plus additional trips from her home in Alaska to Seattle for surgery prep and medical care. All in all, so far, they've spent about 9-10 weeks in Seattle in 2019.
All this air travel and staying in hotels, meals, ground transportation, and missed work really adds up. I created this fundraiser to help my dear friend (Caitlin's momma) Rebecca and her family with all the expenses they incurred with Caitibug's most recent brain surgery.
The Racenets are wonderful, giving, caring, selfless people - in fact, as I was writing this, I learned that they are packing up their camping gear to take and donate to a shelter where an elderly person who was evacuated due to fire is staying. This just a few days after they got back from Caitlin's surgery!
Please help if you can. No amount is too small. Even if you can only do a dollar, please do it. You can remain anonymous if you chose. They really could use the help and relief from the stress of least some of the financial burden. I really hope I did their story justice and that you will find it in your heart to donate if you can and include the family in your prayers. Thank you in advance! I've set this up so the donations will go directly to the Racenets account. Also notes of love and encouragement with your donation would be uplifting for the family to see.
