Meet LL Cool Neigh – lovingly known as EL

EL is a 7-year-old ex-racehorse who was rescued just in time from being sent to slaughter. Thankfully, Trotty By Nature, a compassionate nonprofit dedicated to saving and rehabilitating horses, welcomed him into their herd.

Since joining Trotty, EL has been on a journey of healing and retraining, with hopes of one day becoming a hunter jumper, eventer, or dressage partner. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to lease EL and work closely with him over the past few months. His progress has been nothing short of amazing. He’s a sweet, gentle soul who instantly wins hearts—especially that of my daughters, with whom he shares a truly special bond.

Unfortunately, EL was recently diagnosed with a bone chip in his hind leg, likely a lingering result of an old racing injury. He now needs surgery to repair the damage and give him a real chance at a pain-free, purposeful life.

Trotty By Nature operates entirely through donations and volunteer support. Every dollar raised will go directly toward EL’s surgery, including pre- and post-operative care, transportation, and rehabilitation. Any funds that remain will continue to support the other horses under Trotty’s care.
