Race For Time to Beat Childhood Cancer

Donation protected
Hi, I am Theresa Green. Nicky Webb and I are the co-coordinators of Race For Time, a childhood cancer awareness and fundraising event -- We hope that your family never hears the words "Your child has cancer." But sadly, every 120 seconds, another child is diagnosed with cancer. In Oklahoma, alone, more than 100 families will get that scary news this year alone. Hundreds of children and teens undergo treatment each year at the Jimmy Everest Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, Oklahoma's Comprehensive Cancer Center for Children. We believe cancer should not be a childhood disease! Race For Time got its start in 2016 and grows bigger each year. This year, partnering with Southern Oklahoma Speedway and incredible sponsors from the business community, we plan to create a weekend away from the rigors of battling cancer for dozens of Jimmy Everest Center patients, their siblings and parents. At the same time, we hope to raise critical funds to advance awareness, boost support for pediatric cancer patients and families and improve treatment. Race For Time is our largest fundraiser of the year. It features a night of high-speed action at the speedway with rides in a race car for young cancer patients, a stay overnight in a hotel for these patients and their families, followed by a fun-filled Sunday featuring Carnival acts and games a Car Show, Bounce Houses, Food Trucks and more. All costs are covered for these children and their families. And ALL PROCEEDS support Friends of the Jimmy Everest Center, a childhood cancer fundraising campaign under Children's Health Foundation. Last year, we raised $90,000 and this year, we hope to top that amount again. Every donation moves us closer to that goal. This year's effort is dedicated to Miller Hines, a young man who beat cancer once and is fighting once again. We also remember Jase Bollenbach, a little boy diagnosed with cancer at just 16 months of age, who lost his fight last year to the same cancer that claimed his older brother's life. Miller has been a regular at our Race For Time events, as was Jase. We race for time to find a cure for each and every child diagnosed .... and won't cross the finish line until we do! Our GoFundMe goal is $100,000 for 2023. Last year, GoFundMe donations totaled $1455 and our events raised another $86,000. Please join the fight! Every donation large or small makes a difference!
