Nella notte del 17 dicembre, la cittadina di Presidente Getulio (Brasile) è stata colpita da una forte tempesta che ha provocato un'inondazione, morti e dispersi, radendo al suolo un intero quartiere e danneggiando tutta la città. La famiglia di mio cognato, Giancarlos Morais e Viviane Felicio ed i miei nipotini Victor e Felipe abitavano in quel quartiere; sono riusciti a salvarsi per miracolo arrampicandosi su un muretto di sostegno, mentre la piena raggiungeva la loro abitazione. Sono fortunati perchè si sono salvati, ma hanno perso tutto (mobili, vestiti, elettrodomestici) e la casa non sarà più abitabile. L'auto, distrutta è stata ritrovata a centinaia di metri dall'abitazione. In questo momento mancano, nella gran parte della città, tutti i beni di prima necessità (Elettricità, cibo, acqua).
Ritenendoci dei privilegiati vivendo in questo lato del mondo, vogliamo cercare di dare un aiuto in questo Natale già difficile per tutti a causa della pandemia, a chi ha dovuto subire un'ulteriore tragedia ed al momento non ha un tetto sulla testa e non può permettersi l'acquisto di cibo e vestiti per i propri bimbi.
Io e mia moglie Camila, restiamo a disposizione nel caso voleste ulteriori informazioni e ringraziamo chiunque deciderà di darci anche il più piccolo aiuto.

On Thursday night December 17th, a heavy storm battered the town of Presidente Getulio (Brazil) causing floods, deaths and missing people, razing an entire neighborhood and damaging the whole town. My brother-in-law's family, Giancarlos Morais and Viviane Felicio and my nephews Victor and Felipe lived in that neighborhood; they managed to escape by a miracle by climbing a retaining wall, while the flood reached their home. They are lucky because they survived, but they lost everything (furniture, clothes, appliances) and the house will no longer be habitable. The destroyed car was found hundreds of meters from the house. At the moment there is a lack of all basic needs in most of the city (electricity, food, water). Considering ourselves privileged living on this side of the world, we want to help, during this Christmas already difficult for everyone due to the pandemic, those who are suffering another tragedy and currently have no roof over their heads and cannot afford the purchase of food and clothes for their children.
