Rabe Family Medical Expense Relief

Brent Rabe and his wife, Michelle, have been happily married for over 33 years. Michelle gave up her career to stay at home and raise four wonderful children.  She was actively trying to reenter the workforce in order to help support their kids through college, with the youngest a senior in high school.

Brent and Michellee owned and operated a dance supply store in Modesto until Brent found his calling in law enforcement.  Modesto Police Department hired him as a reserve police officer and he fell in love with the job.  Brent took on every possible assignment and volunteered to write any report to speed up his development to become a full time beat officer.  To maximize his training,  he laterally transferred over to the Sheriff’s Department to gain experience in the jail and their Alternative Work Program.  Coming from a poor background, Brent always worked several jobs to provide for his family and was working part time at juvenile hall when Probation asked him to go full time.  It quickly became clear that his passion was working with at-risk youth, so Brent chose a career with Probation.  He  combined his love for law enforcement and helping misdirected youth by educating himself about criminal street gangs.  He used this knowledge to make juvenile hall safer and became a gang instructor for the department to help educate my fellow officers.  Brent stated, "I’ve been in law enforcement for over 20 years and love making our community safer by changing the lives of the youth who spend time in our facility."

Michelle was stopped dead in her tracks when she suffered several devastating strokes, leaving her speechless and unable to walk. While treating her strokes, the doctors also diagnosed Michelle with several other serious health conditions. Michelle was transferred to UCSF where they performed brain surgery in an effort to find out what was causing the strokes. After two weeks, the doctors at UCSF were unable to find the cause and transferred Michelle back to Doctors Medical Center where she underwent another surgery to remove uterine cancer. Michelle has undergone a battery of tests and examinations from at least a dozen doctors. She is currently experiencing level 10 pain from the strokes,

Michelle is about to be transferred to an acute care facility in order to receive physical and speech therapy. Michelle is in tears and is begging to go home NOW, Brent has been promising her he will bring her home as soon as their home is handicap accessible.

Serious modificatiuons to the home must first occur.  We need your help to make this happen!  Share with everyone you know.  Let Brent and his family know we are here to support one of our own.
