Rabbit Rescue in Cadiz
Donation protected
8 years ago I got my first rabbit, I was trying to save her from a backyard meat breeder in Santa Cruz, California. From that day, my love for these animals kept growing: I adopted 3 more, volunteered for local shelters and private rescues, I created a pet sitting business to fund the rabbit surgeries of a local shelter. I fostered dozen of rabbits, helped during surgeries and, thanks to a friend, was even able to volunteer at a huge sanctuary in Tasmania to vaccinate 250 rabbits.
I dreamed of opening my own rescues, but the very high prices of the Bay Area made it an impossible dream. So, after some research, I decided to open one in Spain, in an area where there are no other rescues of the kind.
For years I worked on this project, and finally I was able to fly with my 4 rabbits to Spain to start it.
In just a few days, I got a lot of requests for help, people finding abandoned rabbits, unwanted litters etc. In Spain, fixing bunnies is not very common at all, and it is going to take a lot of work to change this.
I already have 4 females to fix, I need the money for the surgeries and for food and to build the necessary enclosures to get started.
I hope you can join me in this dream to save and protect this too often forgotten and underestimated animal.
