Rage, Rage against the Dying of the Light
Donation protected
My name is Melissa and this is my cat Isis. She is a 6 1/2 year old tabby/calico mix. She hates me.
Ever since we brought her home, she's always loved my husband more. She resents me for bringing a dog and a kitten into the house. She resents me for shooing her away from the sinks she likes to sit in. She's the kind of cat you can only pet 4 times before she'll slap your hand away. This cat is full of a tremendous amount of spite and anger. And now she is dying.
We found out on Monday that she is suffering from kidney failure. It's not something you'd expect in a young cat that's full of fury, which is probably why we didn't pick up on it until now. I thought I'd have to say goodbye to her that night.
She has made it, through terror and sheer force of will, this far, but I don't know how much time we have left. The care we've given her so far could buy her a week, or it could buy her a month, or it could get her to her 7th birthday. Every day I have with her now is a spiteful, rage-filled gift and a cat with a huge attitude who hasn't given up. I'm doing my best not to give up either.
Her current medical costs are just around $2000. We estimate she'll probably rack up at least another $500 before we get to the end of things. I hope she beats all of the odds and bitterly makes it age 8, but that really doesn't look realistic from this side of things.
If you can donate anything at all, or can share this donation page with your friends and neighbors, all of it helps. Everything I raise goes to paying off her current bills and prepping for the future ones and continued care she'll have for as long as she's alive.
And if you take anything away from this? Death is not kind. Be a bitch right back at it.
