R.A. Stephens Memorial Fund

Donation protected
As many of you know, R.A. Stephens was killed in an auto accident the 19th of April after working a night shift as a sand coordinator. I worked directly with R.A. that night, only an hour before he passed away. R.A. was recently in training and was doing a great job.

This fund is to directly support Crissy Stephens, R.A.'s mom, to help cover funeral costs and also to provide some financial "breathing room" so that she has the option to step away from the oilfield and process the loss of her son.

The fund's goal is set at $15,000. The average funeral is Texas is reported to cost just under $8000. The remaining $7000 is to cover any other of Crissy's expenses while she grieves the loss of R.A. Bereavement Leave is not mandated in the State of Texas, so your contributions are a real way to show you care. Moreover, I'd like to see the $15,000 goal exceeded.

All funds directly go to Crissy Stephens' account. Please give generously and remember that we all are an oilfield family together. Donations should be made quickly, preferably within a week of the incident, (i.e., 4/27/2019), if possible. Thank you.

Crissy Stephen's account of R.A.'s life and character:

"R.A. Stephens was a Son, brother, nephew and daddy of two...he was an awesome soul that would not hold a grudge, no matter what. He loved so strongly and always kept things at 100%. He was a momma's boy. He was his two sisters' keeper and his little brother's fishing buddy, and he was all about his baby girl. She, [his daughter], was his number one reason for doing the finer things in life!

[R.A.] would stop what he was doing to make sure to be there in a time of need...he was an easy-going person and would give you the shirt off his back if it meant helping you out. He touched a lot of people with his out-going and fun spirit. R.A. went through a lot of things in his life but always came out on top with a smile. Nothing could hold him down for long. No what the circumstances or situation was, he always found a way out.

Most people that crossed paths with him would take it that he was shy at the start; however, it took no time at all [for him] to bring out that personality that would show you who he was...he will be missed beyond measure...anything that you all would like to add, you can do so."
