Around Thanksgiving I started having pain in my pelvic area. So began the trips to the doctors office and emergency rooms. By jan we had CT scans (3), two ultrasounds and a transvaginal ultrasound. Nothing was showing up. By March I was able to get into the OBGYN. The doctor found what she was calling stage 2 cervical cancer. Which wasn't an actual diagnosis because all the scans and paps were coming back inconclusive or nothing at all. Thursday I was was able to get a pet scan which shows stage 2 B cervical cancer. The tissue is all necrotic so it wasnt showing up on the other images. Good news is cervical cancer isn't the worst kind to have. The bad news is ive had it for a while without knowing so its advanced. Surgery isn't an option (yet) because the mass is so large its making contact with my bladder and rectum. I have pretty good insurance and work for a wonderful company thats been willing to be helpful. Im not able to work. Christine has been incredible but is not able to cover the cost of everything insurance doesnt pay. Plus she has to miss work to take me to chemo and radiation. The co-pays and medication are adding up. I was trying to avoid taking this action to secure funds. Its just not possible. We need help. We also have a small animal rescue we operate. So if you are unable to help with actual cash fostering may be an option. Maybe my teacher friends could use a classroom pet. Or maybe the kid wants a puppy but you'd prefer to start with something smaller for a responsibility check. We are both available by phone for any questions regarding distribution of funds and any other questions you may have. Also rides to chemo and radiation would help lighten Christine's load.
