Seven months ago, Marcus went to the ER with stroke symptoms. This began a long period where he was very sick, which seriously affected his life and work. Many tests were done, but doctors couldn’t find what was wrong. Recently, Marcus traveled to Boise for a second opinion, where an MRA showed he has arterial dissection and stroke. Because of the delay in diagnosis, Marcus suffered neurological damage. He will need therapy to help him improve. The recovery from the arterial dissection could take 3 -6 months or more. Marcus has been advised to rest strictly for the next three weeks, after which he will return to the neurologist to evaluate the damage and plan further steps. During this time he will be unable to provide for his family.
This past year has been extremely difficult for Marcus and his wife. They exhausted their savings searching for answers. They are now in need of support during Marcus’s recovery. It is uncertain when he will be able to return to work. Money raised will go towards the recovery process, trips to and from Boise appointments, and essential bills.
Many people know Marcus as a kind, loving and hardworking man who has spent his career supporting our community. Starting this GoFundMe was a last resort for the Walkers and any help would mean the world to them.
