Nationwide, African-Americans represent 26% of juvenile arrests, 44% of youth who are detained, 46% of the youth who are judicially waived to criminal court, and 58% of the youth admitted to state prisons (Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice).
These young men have a desire to defeat the odds of their fate through basketball! This spring/summer they plan to travel to various states to compete in 15U AAU basketball games. This can only happen with your support! They need funds for the basic necessities: travel, lodging, and food. No donation is too small! You will be making a difference in a young man's life by providing them with cultural experiences, keeping them safe and off the streets of Chicago, and supporting their interest.
