I’m Jennifer and I’m raising funds for my son Austin Versteeg. On the morning of February 28th I received a call telling me that my son was missing. Austin kissed his girlfriend goodbye and jokingly told her to try and not burn down the house while she was cooking dinner. He was going to the store on his one wheel but never returned. Austin was separated from his wallet when he fell and was admitted to the hospital as a John Doe. When we were able to locate him we learned that he was a trauma level 1 with a traumatic brain injury. He spent 3 weeks in the University of Utah Neurological ICU. He was recently transferred to the rehabilitation side where he’s expected to remain for at least a month. Austin was dropped from my insurance in December. While we are expecting him to be approved for Medicaid he’s going to need help financially while recovering.
