Starting over, please help! Liz Benecke

Hi, my name is Elizabeth and this is my story.

The reason I am asking for help is that I had no idea or at least if I did, I ignored every RED FLAG possible that I, a strong woman was in a very dangerous relationship.

Even though there have been previous incidents that have happened where my safety was at risk, I told myself it was ok, because well my children were never harmed, threatened or in danger.

That all changed a week ago.

I accidentally broke a spindle on the stairs, when I grabbed it to pull myself up. When my estranged husband began to yell, scream and threaten me, I left the house and took my son with me. This was last Sunday (January 8, 2023).

On Friday, I went back to the house with a friend and my son, hoping my estranged husband was calm to gather my children's beds, clothes and some belongings. I have a daughter and she is safe with her Father (not my estranged husband).

The situation began to escalate very quickly, my estranged husband began throwing things and kicking over furniture, and he then pulled a GUN on me, my son and my friend. That is when my friend told me to call the police. So I did!

My estranged husband was arrested for disorderly conduct and battery/assault with a deadly weapon. I felt safe, now that he was arrested.

However, that only lasted a few hours as he has posted bail and is on the loose. There is currently a protection order but it's only for 72 hours. We all know, if a criminal or dangerous person wants to do something, a piece of paper is not going to stop them.

Come to find out, when I tried to pull money out of our joint account, I was no longer on the account, I have been locked out of the house we shared and I have no access to anything.

I will be brief, but I have been dealing with a lot of health issues that have gotten so bad, I actually contemplated Hospice. I, however, changed my mind a few months back, because my story isn't over yet. I fight for my life every single day with my health battles and now I am fighting for my safety too.

However, I need help writing a new story as I am starting completely over, with no home, no money and only the clothes on my back.

You might be wondering, "Am I safe?" - Yes for now, but I don't know what this man is capable of. I am staying with a friend of mine, which I appreciate. However, I don't want to overstay my welcome.

I am asking for help so that I can start over and be able to provide for my son and daughter. The funds will be used as follows:
