Hello!

My name is Fawn. I am a disabled & neurodivergent artist currently living with my partner in California, and I need your help to move in with my wonderful girlfriend in Michigan.

Context / Why We Need to Move

California is practically unlivable with its extreme rent and gas prices, especially for a disabled person. I currently live with my partner (my sole financial support) and my mother, and our situation is not ideal. The house we live in is falling apart at the seams; our toilet hasn't flushed in months, there is black mold growing from inside the walls, and most of our doors are broken.

My partner and I both struggle from depression among other mental disabilities and the environment we live in has been rapidly deteriorating our mental health, leading to near-constant suicidal thoughts and an inability to live our lives. With my disabilities, I can only work a limited amount, so my partner is the breadwinner and supports most of my financial needs. Unfortunately, we cannot afford to live anywhere in our area with our current income. We are barely scraping by even paying only half of typical rent prices, and we struggle to afford the food I'm able to eat with my eating disorders.

There is no possible way that we can continue to survive in California, but we have very limited funds due to living paycheck-to-paycheck. We need help getting a head-start so that we can move somewhere cheaper, with better support for both of us. It is my hope that by moving out of California, we can regain a sense of safety and financial security. I am afraid that if I continue living the way I do, I won't make it through the year.

Our plan is to move to Michigan to live with my girlfriend by the end of this year. In between jobs, I will be offering art commissions to try to support us through the move.

We sincerely appreciate any support you can give, whether it's words of encouragement or financial support. I hate to be in a position to ask for money, but I have to admit I need help making a better life for myself and my partner. We can't do this alone.

Cost Breakdown

I want you to know exactly where your financial support is going, so here is a breakdown of how we will be using the funds. We will be covering as much of the costs as we can with our personal income & credit. My initial goal is $5000, which, if reached, would help us immensely.

$2000 - Apartment down-payment, including pet rent / fees.

$2000 - Moving fees. We won't be moving with much, but since we are moving across the country, it will be costly. We are hoping that this amount will cover gas, food, U-Haul rental, and any other expenses that may arise on the trip.

$1000 - Necessities / furniture. We are moving with almost nothing to our name, so we will need to purchase some necessities when we arrive (such as a mattress and groceries).

Everything else - Any extra funds will be used as a safety net; they will go towards our food, housing, and other necessities as needed.
