We are a group of Mammy's who met in the Coombe Hospital (St. Monica's Ward) ten years ago. A ward for women who pregnancies needed to be monitored closely due to complications occurring. We spent a number of weeks together before one by one our babies where born, each of us then meeting again in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a journey filled with fear, uncertainty and many cherished moments.

Friends of the Coombe offer many supports to Mammy's in NICU from a tour of the NICU before delivery/breastfeeding for premature babies/bereavement support/overnight stays for parents and much more (see their website for a list of all their supports and services).

To mark the ten year milestone, we are meeting on November 3rd at 12.00, in Russborough house. Together with our children we will do Part of the Blessington Greenway walk approx 6km. This walk is to honor all the thousands of premature babies who are cared for by the nurses and doctors in the Coombe Hospital and in loving memory of Baby Isabella and Baby Jamie who ten years ago grew their angel wings after spending a number of weeks in the NICU.
