I fell in love with a beautiful pitbull terrier named Ziggy. He is a HUGE lovebug. (loves kids, other dogs and everyone he can give a big sloppy kiss to) He thinks he's a small lap dog. I rescued from a home where he was not being properly cared for. He was filthy. Housed in his own feces and malnourished. His sweet personality stole my heart as well as my roommates and co-workers too. After only having him for less than 48 hours, Ziggy became lethargic, restless, defecating blood and his respiration rate was severly elevated. I took him to the vet and they told me he probably had gastroenteritis. He received fluids and they ran blood work. We took Ziggy home and within a few hours he began to decline. Ziggy and I layed together on the floor by his bed all night. He regurged and began to have issues breathing in the early morning. I took him back to the vet right away. I asked them to do an ultrasound this time. The ultrasound report showed that he has bladder stones and a foreign body obstruction and will need emergency surgery. The low end of the doctors estimate was $5,000. My heart started to hurt and my eyes began to water. I know I've not had him for long but we have a connection. I love this goofy love ball. For all of you pitbull lovers and animal lovers out there, I pray that you find it in your heart to help my little guy.
