My name is Sabirin Cabdihakim Jamaac Jooje , and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to share the loss of my beloved father, Cabdihakim Jamaac Jooje, who passed away shortly after 8pm on the 25th of September, 2025, at the age of 62. My father had been living with diabetes, and last week his condition suddenly worsened—his sugar levels became dangerously high, and he was rushed to the hospital. There, we were told he had developed a severe chest infection. He was placed into a coma and moved to the ICU for intensive care. Days later, by the mercy of Allah, he began to show signs of improvement and was taken out of the coma. However, earlier today, we received an urgent call from the hospital asking us to come immediately. We were then given the devastating news that they had discovered aggressive cancer in his lungs and liver. Not long after, he peacefully returned to his Lord.

My father was a well-known and deeply respected member of the Leicester community. He dedicated much of his life to helping others, particularly orphans in Somalia, whom he supported quietly but consistently. Even on his deathbed, when asked about his final wishes, he requested only that we continue to care for the orphans he had been looking after.
