Elijah Joseph Augustine was born on August 22nd, 2015 and he was a 8lb 14oz healthy boy! We brought him to his loving home on the 25th of August, and he settled right in, and was even accepted into the pack by the cats. The two weeks of his life were filled with love, cuddles, and new faces who were eager to meet and hold him.
Unfortunately, in the early morning hours on September 8th, 2015, Elijah was found unresponsive in his bassinet by his father. After paramedics and ER nurses worked on him for over 40 minutes, they gave up on trying to revive him because his heart wouldn't beat on it's own. He was pronounced dead at 2:09am. He was only 17 days old. But in his 2 weeks and 3 days of life, he was surrounded by people who absolutely adored and loved him deeply.
His heart valves are being donated to potentially save two other babies who are in need.
The money donated to the Augustine family will go towards any funeral costs, as well as anything the family might need in this hard time. Thank you.
