Eliana was born 10 weeks early and not expected to survive. She was born not breathing and had to be placed on life support. During her first few weeks she suffered multiple brain bleeds along with other complications. This has sadly left her with permanent brain damage which has also caused drug resistant epilepsy.
Along with this Eliana has severe learning difficulties, hypermobility, asthma, ketotic hypoglycaemia and speech and language difficulties.
Eliana’s epilepsy has sadly evolved a lot this year. She is now having night time seizures which highly increases her chance of SUDEP (sudden unexplained death in epilepsy).
We are awaiting further tests and medication from her consultant. He has told us that we need to get a night time monitor for Eliana ASAP. The letter is on the way to confirm this which I will upload as soon as I have it.
The seizure type we believe she is having is a tonic seizure which is also causing breathing difficulties. The only reliable monitor for this is the nightwatch+ which I have added a photo to show.
All funds will go towards purchasing this monitor which could save our daughters life. If there is any left over money this will go direct to the daisy garland who have supported us a lot over the years.
If, in the future Eliana no longer needs this monitor it will be passed on to another family in need.
I am not the sort of person to ever ask for support personally but I have no other option here.
Thank you for taking the time to read
