Help Charlie Fight Leukemia
Donation protected
My son's friend was just diagnosed with leukemia.
Charlie is 2 years old, and is facing a challenge that no child should go through.
Charlie’s family summer plans of camping, hiking, and spending quality time together have drastically changed in days.
After receiving abnormal blood work results Monday afternoon (6/6/22), the family rushed Charlie to the ER. He was then rushed in an ambulance from Southern Utah to Primary Children’s Hospital in SLC. After a day of tests and a blood transfusion, Charlie was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (6/7/22).
Charlie heads into surgery today for a spinal tap and bone marrow biopsy (6/8/22) to figure out how much the cancer has spread. He will get his first dose of chemo today during the surgery.
Charlie’s family is doing everything in their power to make sure that Charlie gets the treatment he needs to beat cancer. Haydn (Dad) will continue his full-time job as a school based therapist when school resumes in the fall. In the meantime, he will cut back/pause his landscaping business to be with Charlie during his treatments this summer. Sam (Mom) will hold down the fort in Southern Utah with their other three kids. Since Haydn will resume working in the fall, Sam will resign from her dream job that was supposed to begin in the fall, so that she can take Charlie to his treatments in Salt Lake.
Between travel expenses (4 hour drive to the hospital), meal expenses, the cost of treatments, hospital stays, and the ambulance ride, the Charlie’s family needs your help.
We believe in community. We know that when people rally together for good, amazing miracles unfold.
I’ve known Sam for over 15 years and to see her family go through this is heartbreaking. Please consider donating. If you’re not able to donate, please share Charlie’s story!
Charlie always tells his family “I strong like Spidey” whenever he does anything tough, so we know he will be a little fighter through it all. Thank you for your much needed help at this difficult time.
