Medical Bills and Loss of Income

On January 21st my brother-in-law Jeremy Browning, father of 4, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer with multiple masses on various internal organs (liver, pancreas, lymph nodes, and lung nodules).

1/24-24 - my sister Lisa shared the horrible news with the rest of the family and friends. The hardest post she ever had to make. Her only request was to pray and to pray hard. And share it with everyone we knew so that they too would pray for him.

1/25/24 - Jeremy had his first oncology appointment where they determined that he was a candidate for treatment that was to start around February 5th. Praise God!

1/31/24 - Jeremy was admitted back into the hospital where he remains in critical condition today. Chemo started one day later than planned, but he did complete his first round of treatment which took roughly 3 days. During this process he had a few setbacks, but thank God he was able to complete all three parts of the first session. The last day was particularly hard on him because the pain was unbearable. Jeremy has such a long road a head of him where he continues to fight for his life. Lisa has not left his side. Thankfully, they are blessed to have a great support system of family and friends who love and care for them very much. But things are fixing to get really hard on them soon because neither are able to work and treatments must continue. So we felt like NOW was the time to setup a GoFund Me to help with their mortgage, utilities, and medical bills. They need our support now more than ever. Please… will you help? Any amount helps. All contributions will go to Jeremy and Lisa. Please share. And please continue to PRAY. Jeremy needs a miracle.

2/11/24 -Jeremy struggles with the effects of the chemo. He’s still in much pain. A decision was made to go a head with a cath procedure and start dialysis. But today, their daughter Lauren isn’t feeling her best. Thankfully she has an Uncle Daniel (Jeremy’s brother) who’s caring for her while mom and dad can’t be there. But Lisa pushes on and expresses her gratitude for all the moral support and for the donations and asks for continued prayers due to the uncertainty on what the future holds.

2/13/24 - a drain was installed in Jeremy’s stomach yesterday. This area is extremely tender. He finished his second round of dialysis last night and hopefully a port will be installed today. Praying that happens. No more dialysis until Wednesday, but his numbers have slightly improved which is great news. But poor Lauren is still home battling the flu. She’s miserable and no doubt wants her mom and dad. Please continue to lift her up in prayer.

2/14/23 - Jeremy Browning had two surgical procedures today. One was a biliary stent placement and the second was a port placement in the chest. This now makes his 2nd port. Shortly after the second surgery, he was sent off for another round of dialysis. Finally ended the day with a stomach drain. After a week of no nutrition, he's finally getting a bag of liquid nutrients. This man has gone through so much in the last 15 days here at the hospital We pray that the stent will help with his liver issue so that we can resume Chemotherapy. Please continue to pray for Jeremy. Pray for strength to continue the fight, comfort, and healing. His need is still so great. Our Lauren Browning is finally starting to feel better. I'm so thankful for Uncle Daniel Browning caring for her while I am away. It's been very difficult to say the least.

2/16/23 - Last night was another sleepless night for Jeremy. Thankful he's resting now. Dialysis and drain went well today. He's a little more comfortable now that some of the pressure has been released from his abdomen. Still praying we can move forward with Chemo next week. He's eager to get well enough to come home. GOD willing, we will make this happen for him.
The past couple of weeks have been very difficult. If there's one thing I've learned, its this... Trust in GOD! Live every day like it's your last day. Hug your loved ones often and tell them just how much they mean to you. I promise you, it will never be enough. Pick your battles and always forgive. Life is too short to hold grudges. Work to live, don't live to work. Our time here is short.

2/20/24 - Another difficult night for Jeremy but we are here another day. Praise Jesus! Dealing with a bout of insomnia. It's difficult when you’re tired yet anxious and your eyes won't close and your mind wont shut down. The stress it puts on you... it's harsh. His thoughts... they never stop. Even when he's not talking, his mind is racing. It's exhausting to watch. So, last night was a pretty active night for us but that's ok. I had "enough" rest to get me through. What makes it all worth while is just being here for him, with him. So he knows that he's not alone. The true blessing is sitting across from him this morning and watching him slowly fall a sleep. At last, he's finally in a state of perfect peace. Even if only for a few minutes .

UPDATE: Chemo is running & he is snoring Thank you, Jesus

2/22/24 - First grand baby was born today. She’s absolutely beautiful. “Nonna” and “Poppy” are proud. Congratulations to Jordan and Rebecca. She’s perfect.

2/25/24 - Jeremy was taken off of TPN this afternoon in hopes that it would help reduce the swelling in his legs & feet. He's not eating much of anything so this is still being monitored. Had a blood transfusion today due to a drop in his red blood count & plates. It's common with his type of Chemotherapy. Still very weak and unable to stand without assistance and it's only for a minute or two. Hopefully over rhe next few weeks he'll build up the strength through PT & OT. Still working on getting him released to continue treatment from home. Let's hope this happens sooner than later. I believe it will do him good to be home. Finally got a permacath placed in his chest for dialysis rather than the temporary port in his neck. This makes two ports now in his chest along with his PleurX drain in his abdomen. He will continue chemo, dialysis & parcentsis for the foreseeable future. Please continue to pray for him. Being in the hospital has really affected his mental health. He could use the uplifting. Thank you for the continued love, prayers and support. You are very much appreciated.

2/27/24 - Jeremy was released from the hospital after a long 28 day stay. While this is just the beginning of our journey, I want to thank everyone who's reached out, provided support & prayed for us. We still have a big fight ahead but at least he is home with his family. I love you all and will forever be grateful and thankful for you!

3/2/24 - Things have been hectic around the house. Trying to get him situated, appointments scheduled, transportation for dialysis & chemo, home healthcare, etc.. it’s been a lot. Jeremy is glad to be home but can't seem to get comfortable. The pain comes and goes so we try to keep that under control. He is still very weak but we're hoping to see improvement as we work on his nutrition. His sleeping has improved, so that's a plus. In fact, that's about all he does. I'm not complaining though, he never rested in the hospital.
Please continue to pray for him. Pray for strength and comfort. He's surpassed many hurdles but has many more to go.

3/6/24 - I dont even know what to say This afternoon at 3:30 pm, Jeremy's fight with cancer came to an end. Since his diagnosis, he fought through some of the most difficult challenges anyone could endure and never, ever gave up. He battled through everything that was thrown at him. In his finals days he knew the time had come. He knew that the Lord was calling him home. He was ready, we just weren't.

I lost my best friend, my person, the love of life, my sweet, sweet husband, Jeremy. The best Dad anyone could ask for. And if you knew my Jeremy, you knew that his children were the light of his life.

I can't begin to describe the pain. Knowing I will never hear his sweet voice, contagious laugh, be able to see him, talk to him, touch him, hold him, kiss him My world, our world, has been turned upside down and we are gutted.

The days, weeks, months ahead are going to be difficult. I ask that you please pray for us. Please pray for peace and comfort. This world has lost a magnificent human but I am honored he chose me to be a part of his life's journey Jeremy Browning I love you then, now and always.
