Hello,

My name is Lani and I am the mother of and extraordinary 8 year old boy named Marcelino (lino). Lino was born with a detached retna in his right eye and glaucoma in his left eye. He was completely blind at birth. The wonderful doctors at Children's Hospital in Los Angeles, California performed several surgeries  on Lino's left eye, which eventually gave him minimal sight. However, the glaucoma in his eye continues to grow and he is still legally blind. Lino has recently advised me that he wants to get cornea transplant surgery to help is vision in his left eye. Although he is only 8 years old, his greatest desire in life is to drive a car when he is old enough to do so. Unfortunately, our insurance will not cover all of the costs associated with this surgery and we do not qualify for free care. Therefore, I have been advised to set up this fundraiser to see if we can get close enough to our goal to help my sweet little guy get his transplant.
