This little guy was run over by a car right in front of me!!!   The woman who ran over him didn't stop and none of the other cars stopped to help him.   People were actually racing around him as he twitched and suffered laying there on the scoring hot asphalt!  When I saw what happened and cars were literally driving OVER him, I made a u-turn, put my car sideways to oncoming traffic and forced all the cars to stop.

I put him on a makeshift "stretcher" from a piece of stone I had in the car in case he had internal injuries and raced him to the hospital.   

The vet said his jaw was severely damaged and he is in shock.   He is going to be transferred to the animal shelter when he is stabilized and they will either fix his jaw (if minor) or he will be euthanized if I'm unable to adopt him and pay for more complex surgery.   He WILL live and have a fairly normal life if the jaw surgery is completed.   I dont know how much that will cost but the vet estimated between $1500 and $2000.  I will lower the fundraising amount if it ends up less than $2000.  

Restore my faith in humanity.
