When I first came up with the name Solas Animal Safe Home I had just brought home Lucky, a 15 year old dog that had been left at the shelter by his long time owner. Lucky immediately needed $900.00 worth of dental work that the shelter paid $400.00 of. I began to dream of a spot where senior animals could come live out their days without worry of abandonment. No one looks forward to watching their beloved pet die, but our beloved companions deserve to die in the arms of someone who loves them and makes sure they don't suffer. This dream took on a life of its own, and I now have 19 animals including 20 year old and 30 year old burros. The feed bill exceeds $150.00 a month, and two creatures need medication. I have never been one to ask for help, but there's a first time for everything. Please help me care for these loving creatures at the end of their lives. Solas means light in Irish Gaelic, and rhymes with solace in English.
