It is with profound sadness that we share that our beloved wife, mother, daughter, and sister, Mary Catherine, passed away on December 24, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. She left this world peacefully at home, surrounded by love, and without pain.

Mary Catherine was married for 25 years to Dr. Mike Bishop and was the devoted mother of three incredible sons — Nathan, Matthew, and Ryan. She was the youngest daughter of Martha Lamb and loving sister to Elizabeth, Deanna, Brad, Steve, Melinda, Tim, Andrew and Jeff. She built a life overflowing with love, laughter, and memories that will forever live in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

She brought purpose, joy, and a beautiful sense of silliness to her family’s life. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love touched countless people, and her spirit will continue to shine through the stories we share and the lives she shaped.

Service Details

In lieu of flowers, Mary Catherine wished for contributions to be made to her sons’ college fund. Donations to this GoFundMe will be divided equally among Nathan, Matthew, and Ryan to support their college tuition and room-and-board expenses.

Mary Catherine Bishop is mom to 3 young boys, a teacher's aide at Victory Lakes Elementary and the wife of Patriot High School Principal, Dr. Mike Bishop. In January, her life was turned upside down. Mary Catherine was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer after seeking medical treatment for what she thought was a hernia. From the many doctor visits and testing it has been determined that this cancer is treatable, however it will take a toll on Mary Catherine, Mike and the family. She finished radiation and now is on to chemotherapy.

Unfortunately, Mary Catherine is unable to work during this time, therefore the loss of her wages has affected the family household and created a hardship. Even with insurance, a cancer diagnosis comes with many unexpected extra expenses at a time when the family is burdened with legal expenses.
