I am Ateba M. Atangana, daughter of Albert Atangana and Veronique Kombani Nkong. I am Cameroonian born and raised, hailing from the beautiful city of Yaounde. Growing up in Cameroon with my mother, I had a wonderful childhood. Though we lived below the poverty level, my mother ensured that my siblings and I always had enough. I remember the many days of going to the well to draw water with my mother and being so excited to carry my own bucket! At 8 years of age, I migrated to the United States of America and began my schooling. The transition from my mothers' village to the bustling city of Newark, New Jersey was very thrilling! During my years of schooling in America, I have learned that things that are sometimes taken for granted by us mean the world to someone else. This is the source of my passion and my platform: creating a healthy approach to ending childhood hunger and malnutrition through education, assistance and activism. With your help, I can bring my platform to the world, beginning with the Miss Cameroon USA stage.
